Replacing a Broken Deck in Annapolis, Maryland: Makeover Monday

Replacing a broken or collapsed deck is crucial for maintaining the safety, structural integrity, and value of your home. A damaged deck can pose serious safety hazards, especially if it’s attached to the house, potentially leading to further structural issues, water damage, or pest infestations. Ignoring the problem can not only affect the safety of your family and pets, but it could also result in costly repairs down the line and lower property value. Promptly repairing or replacing the deck helps prevent additional damage, ensures the safety of your family, and protects your home’s long-term health and curb appeal.

When a deck’s structure is damaged beyond small repairs, an overall replacement by a trusted deck installer is the right choice. Homeowners in Annapolis contacted Fence & Deck Connection to replace their collapsed back deck with high quality, long-lasting materials. Project Consultant Kevin Bullion worked with our customers to design a replacement deck using Trex composite decking. Continue below to see the amazing transformation!

BEFORE:

We first removed the existing decking and replaced the space with an expertly crafted pressure-treated wood frame and 256 sq. ft. of Trex Enhance decking in the Tide Pool hue. This newer color brings heat-mitigating technology for budget-minded projects, and draws inspiration from nature’s intricate artwork created by the gentle hand of the tides.

White vinyl Washington-style railings with black aluminum balusters safely enclose the new space, and one set of seven “picture-framed” steps lead down from the new spacious deck to the backyard.
