For the last couple years, we’ve primarily focused on beautiful composite decking projects for our “Project of the Month” series. Not only do these larger deck projects offer homeowners a chance to gather inspiration for their own backyard with the many upgraded features and accessories, but they highlight our capabilities and skilled craftsmanship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For September’s Project of the Month, we’re going in an entirely different direction \u2014 and one that leads to water! Homeowners in Crownsville had waterfront property, but with the home placed on the top of a steep bluff, there was no good access to the Severn River below. Project Consultant Andrew Vidulich helped our Anne Arundel County customers solve the problem!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Fence & Deck Connection, we embrace the challenge of a steep hillside, and take pride in our ability to securely plant a stout staircase on the steepest of slopes, offering safe passage to the waterfront. Our handsome stair structures not only facilitate the enjoyment of your backyard, but can substantially enhance the value of your waterfront property. After all, without stairs, a waterfront property is only a water-view property!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We installed approximately 500 sq. ft. of pressure treated wood landings to support 55 steps starting from the existing deck down to the riverside. All landings followed grade evenly, with 13 sections total. To accommodate the landscape and ease of use, each individual run had no more than 8 or 9 steps. This allows for a much needed rest on one of the landings \u2014 especially if you forgot your towel! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
