Trex composite decking is always a great option for clients looking to upgrade their existing wooden deck into a durable outdoor space that lasts for years and requires less maintenance. David King, an experienced Fence & Deck Connection Project Consultant, worked with homeowners in Bowie, Maryland to transform an outdated deck into a more modern, maintenance-friendly outdoor space for relaxing and entertaining. We first removed and hauled away the existing deck, before our crews were able to get to work with a clean slate. We then installed a new 29.5 x 16′ deck using Trex Enhance decking in Clam Shell. Trex Enhance decking is a budget friendly option that offers an authentic wood-grain appearance with the durability of composite and the affordability of wood. Enhance decking boards are scalloped, making them as lightweight as lumber\u2014without the extra work. This long-lasting decking requires little upkeep and comes in seven colors in the Enhance line. Clam Shell used with this PG County deck, is an easy-to-match shade of medium grey, featuring a low-maintenance, wood-like grain pattern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deck was designed with matching Clam Shell feature and seam boards, as well as white Washington-style vinyl railing with black round aluminum balusters and white vinyl rail posts. Two sets of steps with white vinyl risers provide entry to the raised deck space. 6 black Pyxis risers lights with transformer were installed on the deck, providing an additional safety feature and a beautiful after-dark glow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
