When Monkton homeowners came to Fence & Deck Connection looking to replace their outdated and molding wood decking, Project Consultant Steve Nehus was happy to help! During the initial onsite estimate appointment, our Project Consultants meet with our clients to discuss the vision for the deck project, design options, and review our various material and color options. Once determined that they wanted to make the switch from wood to more maintenance-friendly composite, they made a great decision with TimberTech decking!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The TimberTech EDGE Prime+ Collection is an affordable composite decking line that lets homeowners ditch the costly and laborious maintenance of traditional wood decks and patios. Plus, it is composed of up to 80% recycled materials which makes it a sustainable solution! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We first demoed the existing decks, before constructing the new free-standing decks, with the exception of a 13′ x 6′ balcony. The layout was designed to match the previous deck, this time with quality craftsmanship and long-lasting materials! We installed one main deck, a landing deck off two sets of sliding doors, and a hot tub deck with a mid-beam to support the weight of the hot tub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All decking boards were comprised of TimberTech EDGE Prime + decking in Dark Cocoa, used hidden fasteners. Any boards that were unable to be secured using hidden fasteners were screwed to joists using color matching screws. This provides a clean, elegant look. The Prime + collection brings beautifully color-blended decking to your outdoor living space with moderately varied hues. Featuring a subtle, straight grain pattern, the long-lasting, scalloped decking in this collection creates an authentic wood visual that is sure to impress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Decks were secured using TimberTech Classic Composite Series Premier Railing with matching posts and black round aluminum balusters. Dark Cocoa fascia wraps the deck, and a matching Dark Cocoa feature board runs the perimeter of the deck for a beautiful finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To ensure the deck, and especially the hot tub, could be enjoyed at night, homeowners chose a lighting system that included a low-voltage transformer and black Saturn Anello post cap lights in all rail posts for the main deck. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
