As a bonus room and extension of your home,\u00a0screened\u00a0porches\u00a0provide a comfortable place to enjoy the outdoors, protected from the elements.\u00a0However, if you mainly use your porch to enjoy all the sights of nature, an open porch is the way to go. Whether you have beautiful views of Maryland’s many waterways, rolling hills, or urban wildlife, an open porch or deck pavilion is the best way to ensure nothing obstructs a lovely view. Adding an open porch to your home is a little simpler than a screened porch, offers a unique entertaining area, and is an easier project with fewer components means a bit less spending.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project Consultant Joel Lewis worked with our clients in Severn, Maryland to design a beautiful, spacious deck complete with an uncovered screen porch. While the roofed deck section looks stunning as is, our customers will have the ability to screen in the porch if they choose to do so in the future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting from scratch with a well-crafted frame and structure, we installed 858 sq. ft. of TimberTech Reserve decking in the stunning Antique Leather hue. A Dark Roast feature board frames the deck, and was also used for seam boards. A darker or lighter accent color is a popular deck trend<\/a> that adds interest to large spaces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tan vinyl Lincoln-style railing with bronze aluminum balusters complement the warmth of the golden oak and natural cedar aesthetic that TimberTech Antique Leather offers. This color combination is truly stunning in person! A Dark Roast colored rail cap continues along the length of the railing, lending a nice place to rest your hands (and your drink) as you stand outside to enjoy the summer breeze. Matching tan fascia wraps the deck, posts, and beams, for a more clean, finished look. Tan Nebula eyeball lights on the railing posts, and bronze TimberTech riser lights on the stair risers produce a stunning nighttime ambience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The unscreened porch perfectly matches the look of the surrounding deck. A 192 sq. ft. frame supports the roofing structure, wrapped in tan vinyl sleeves with a bottom accent. The underside of the roof was designed with tan beaded soffit, which adds charming character and a subtle finishing touch that is unmatched by any other style. CertainTeed Landmark Architectural shingles in the Heather Blend hue adorn the pavilion’s roof, giving the appearance of a true extension of the main home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
