Many homeowners underestimate the maintenance a wooden deck needs, and never consider replacing a wood deck with something like composite,<\/a> which requires far less maintenance. When an older deck becomes unsafe or unsightly, composite decking becomes the easy choice for a deck that is barefoot-friendly, attractive, and durable for the long haul. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brian Hannon, one of Fence & Deck Connection’s extremely knowledgeable Sales Consultants, worked with homeowners in Ellicott City to transform an old, rotting wooden deck into a stunning new outdoor space that will last for decades. During an initial onsite estimate appointment<\/a>, our Sales team reviews the scope of the project, discusses all plans, designs, and material options, then offers an estimated project timeline and cost estimate. We aim to make the experience as stress-free as possible and always keep our customers in the loop as a new project heads to the next phase. Once we have the layout and design in mind, we work with our Production Team to create CAD drawings that will be approved by homeowners or an HOA if necessary. As this was a re-decking project, we used the existing structure by adding 15 joists for support, and replaced the decking boards and railings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our hardworking crews removed the existing boards and stairs to install 442 sq. ft. of TimberTech Reserve decking in Antique Leather using hidden fasteners. Matching fascia wraps the deck and a feature board adds interest and a touch of elegance. White vinyl railing with square black aluminum balusters complement the warmth of the golden oak and natural cedar aesthetic that TimberTech Antique Leather offers. A matching rail cap continues along the length of the railing, lending a nice place to rest your hands (and your drink) as you stand outside to enjoy the summer breeze. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
