Makeover Monday: TimberTech Deck in Glen Burnie, MD

Without a back deck, one Glen Burnie family used the grassy area below a few wooden steps for grilling, entertaining, and cozying up by their outdoor fire pit. Jeff Gottleib, one of Fence & Deck Connection’s knowledgeable Project Consultants worked with our clients to transform the space off of their sliding glass door into a more finished, usable outdoor space that provides enough room for all of those activities!

BEFORE INSTALLATION

We constructed a 20′ x 18′ pressure treated frame and installed TimberTech Reserve decking in the popular Driftwood color using hidden fasteners. TimberTech Reserve decking is a great low-maintenance option, as the material is resistant to mold, mildew, moisture damage, scratches, fading, and staining. Driftwood, which falls under the ‘Reserve Collection’ is inspired by reclaimed wood and the heavy wire-brushed, low-gloss finish highlights the classic cathedral wood grain pattern.

To accent the deck boards, we installed white vinyl Washington-style railing with black round balusters. Replacing the old steps down to the backyard is one set of 4′ wide steps secured by a gate for added safety and security. To complete the new look, we also installed hose bib access and wrapped the deck and sides of the steps in white vinyl fascia.
