Makeover Monday: New Townhome Deck in Odenton, Maryland

Many townhome or condo communities require the installation of a new or replacement deck based on HOA regulations. At Fence & Deck Connection, our knowledgeable Project Consultants are able to work with homeowners to design a deck that fits within those rules and regulations, while adding design elements and accessories that personalize the outdoor space. For our customers in Odenton, Project Jake Wolod helped to replace their outdated wooden deck with a more modern design that creates privacy and uses maintenance-friendly composite materials.

Before:

We first demoed the existing deck before building a new frame and structure. The expertly crafted framework supports 184 sq. ft. of TimberTech EdgePrime+ composite decking in Sea Salt Gray. TimberTech Edge Prime+ brings affordable, beautifully monochromatic decking to your outdoor living space with moderately varied hues. Featuring a subtle, straight grain pattern, the long-lasting, scalloped decking in this collection creates an authentic wood visual that is sure to impress.

A feature board on the steps creates a “picture frame” accent, and White vinyl Washington-style railing with black round aluminum spindles encloses the new decking area and a gate at the top of the stairs secures the deck space – great for keeping small children or pets safely contained.  We also installed 6′ of white vinyl privacy panel with black spindles. With townhomes being close together, outdoor privacy is a coveted commodity, and privacy panels are a great addition for daytime entertaining or nighttime gatherings!

White textured fascia wraps the deck creating a clean, finished look, while the front of the deck was designed with white vinyl lattice. This lattice skirting hides the underside of the deck for better viewing from the yard.
