Makeover Monday: Tree Damaged Deck in Columbia, Maryland

We put so much time into building and beautifying our outdoor spaces so that we can relax and enjoy all that nature has to offer. Sometimes, however, Mother Nature can be the one who causes damage to our backyards. For homeowners in Columbia, Maryland, this was most certainly the case. After a large tree damaged our clients pressure treated wood deck, Project Consultant Andrew Vidulich helped design and replace the space using composite material. The end result is safe, secure outdoor structure that will last for years to come — as long as Mother Nature behaves!

Before:

We first removed and hauled away the existing damaged deck before constructing a new frame. We then installed approximately 300 sq. ft. of TimberTech Reserve composite decking in the Dark Roast hue. With a duo-tone matte finish, Dark Roast boards provide a beautiful blend of natural, traditional beauty with an elegant modern twist. Unlike other deck board in the TimberTech collection, EasyClean Reserve Dark Roast composite decking has been produced with an antique brushed finish bringing out a deeper, more visible grain — ideal for homeowners searching for a deck board that offers an organic appearance.

White Ultralox Alta aluminum railing with black standard balusters enclose the space, offering security and stability. Ultralox premium powder-coated railing systems provide a great option for decks, patios, and swimming pools with safe, low-maintenance living in mind. Eleven 5′ wide steps with a matching gate at the top of the staircase complete the new space, in addition to white vinyl fascia wraps.
