Project of the Month: Multitone Trex Deck in Bowie, Maryland

The switch from outdated or dilapidating wood decking to maintenance-free composite decking is hard to pass up, especially when you see the end result from our clients in Bowie, MD! Last fall, these homeowners knew that it was time to update their old wood deck that was in need of much TLC. Sometimes, a powerwash and new stain just won’t cut it. Our Anne Arundel County-based fence and deck company helped this family achieve their new dream space!

The Deck Installation Process

Our knowledgeable Project Consultant, David King, met with these Bowie homeowners to design a new deck that requires less maintenance and reflects the home’s style and personality. After discussing their vision and providing education on our high quality materials and beautiful color options to choose from, David was able to draw up his own sketch. He then passed it along to our design and production team to produce the final CAD drawing.

We removed and hauled away the existing deck and stairs, and replaced the space with Trex Transcend decking with hidden fasteners in the very popular Tiki Torch color. For an eye-catching and convenient accent, we then installed a Trex Vintage Lantern colored railing with black aluminum balusters and Rope Swing colored rail posts, topped with a Tiki Torch colored 2×4 cap rail. Tan vinyl fascia and privacy lattice provides another element to the beautiful new composite deck. One 4′ wide lattice gates is placed on either side of the deck for under-deck access and storage.

For enjoyment long after the sun goes down, this project included a lighting package with Trex flat post cap lights, along with a transformer, timing, and wiring. Last but not least, we installed 7 steps in the Tiki Torch color with tan vinyl risers. Take a look at the final product below!
