Makeover Monday: Deck & Railing in Severna Park, Maryland

All homes are unique, so there certainly isn’t a “one size fits all” for backyard decks, especially when a pool is involved! Homeowners in Severna Park, Maryland wanted to invest in a spacious backyard deck that would be a great place to relax and entertain after a day of swimming. Jeff Gottleib, one of Fence & Deck Connection’s experienced Project Consultants, helped to design a safe, beautifully modern outdoor space that completely transforms the backyard aesthetic of this Severna Park home.

Fence & Deck Connection crews constructed a 38′ x 11′ pressure treated wood frame to support new Trex Enhanced Clam Shell decking. Clam Shell is an easy-to-match shade of medium grey, featuring a low-maintenance, wood-like grain pattern. Trex Enhanced decking is made of high-performance composite material that won’t rot, warp, or splinter, unlike wood.

Black aluminum Ultralox railing encloses the space, with a pool code lock on the gate. Ultralox premium powder-coated railing systems provide a great option for decks, patios, and swimming pools with safe, low-maintenance living in mind. Matching railing was also installed alongside the concrete steps leading down to the pool area. White vinyl fascia trips the side of deck and new set of 8′ wide steps.
