When an old wood deck is warped or rotting, it can really hinder the enjoyment of spending time outdoors. Not only does an aging deck look unsightly, it can become unsafe for homeowners and guests. Before: Wood Deck in Need of an Update
We first removed and hauled away the existing deck that featured two separate entertaining areas, separated by stairs and a landing. We then built a new free-standing construction supporting approximately 394 sq. ft of Trex Enhance decking in the lovely Foggy Wharf color. Foggy Wharf is a modern neutral color option that blends salty grey hues with shades of dark silver, featuring a low-maintenance, wood-like grain pattern. This light, delicate tone is perfect for brightening up a space.
To add interest and a nice complementing tone, we installed Clam Shell decking as the seam board that runs down the middle of the deck, and as a feature board that runs along the deck’s perimeter. Clam Shell is an easy-to-match shade of medium grey, White vinyl Washington-style handrails with black round aluminum balusters safely enclose the space, and pair nicely with the chosen deck colors. A set of 10 steps lead down to the backyard space, where one can look up and admire the beauty of a newly finished Trex deck!
