When it’s time to consider investing in a deck makeover, homeowners are usually left with a few options. Just because your deck’s stairs, rails, and planking are in bad shape, doesn’t necessarily mean the entire structure has to be torn down and replaced. On the other hand, you don’t want to gamble with the safety of those who’ll be enjoying your deck, including family members and friends. Our Maryland fence and deck installation company can help determine if your deck’s posts and framework are structurally sound enough to support a re-decking project over a total replacement.
Project Consultant Joel Lewis met with homeowners in Anne Arundel County for a free onsite estimate appointment to discuss their vision for the existing deck space. Luckily, they were able to use the existing structure and only replace the deck boards, stairs, and and railing. The end result is a beautifully updated deck that gives the home a new glow with high-quality composite TimberTech decking.
To start the redecking and resurfacing project, we first removed and hauled away the existing deck boards, stairs, and railings. We then installed 428 sq. ft. of TimberTech Reserve decking in the stunning Dark Roast color. A picture frame feature board adds a nice design element to the surface. Inspired by reclaimed wood, these boards feature a rough wire-brushed, low-gloss finish that highlights the classic cathedral wood grain pattern. In addition, they offer superior scratch resistance and feature Mold Guard™ Technology that protects the plank from the elements and everyday accidents endured by most decks. They have also been third party tested and proven to retain color and offer excellent fade resistance.
White vinyl Washington-style railings with black aluminum balusters enclose the deck, and white fascia wraps the perimeter and new sets of stairs.
