There are a few materials to choose from for your fencing needs, including vinyl, pressure treated wood, vinyl, aluminum, and chain link. While chain link is the most budget friendly of the options, it certainly doesn’t give the privacy or security of a wooden or vinyl fence. Additionally, it doesn’t offer the charm and appeal of other materials. Traditional wood fencing offers that that classic charm, but only looks great when properly maintained. After several years, keeping wood fencing “like new” can become tedious.
Project Consultant Kevin Bullion worked with homeowners in Annapolis, Maryland who came to Fence & Deck Connection when they realized their wood fencing needed more TLC than they were ready to give. They made the decision to switch to vinyl fencing in the Mocha Walnut color which requires far less maintenance and has the appearance of real wood.

Before installing a new fence, we always advise referring to your plat, or ordering a new survey from a land surveyor to be sure of boundaries. At Fence & Deck Connection, we offer our customers a survey service at very low cost. Without an official survey, we typically install a foot inside the line, just to be on the safe side.Our customers took advantage of this service, and then cleared the fence line of brush, ivy, trees, and branches before installation.
We removed 272′ of wood fencing and replaced it with 283′ of 6′ tall vinyl privacy fencing in the Mocha Walnut hue. Instead of traditional white vinyl privacy fencing, or pressure treated wood fencing that requires sealing and staining throughout the years, Mocha Walnut is made of premium heavy duty vinyl, and has the appearance of a dark wood color with wood grain. No need to worry about yearly painting and touchups – this beautiful color is long lasting!
New England style post caps adorn the top of the fence, and three gates provide access to and from the backyard — one 4′ wide walk gate with armor latch, another 6′ wide walk gate with armor latch, and one 10′ wide double gate with armor latch. The new fencing is so much more visibly pleasing and adds instant curb appeal to the home and yard!
