Fence & Deck Connection Donates $8,300 to Anne Arundel County Food Bank

Earlier this week, Anne Arundel County Food Bank (AACFB)’s CEO, Leah Paley and Director of Development, Sarah Reilly stopped by the Fence & Deck Connection Millersville office, so that our team could present an end-of-the-year donation! The money was collected from a percentage of our 2023 November residential sales profits as a way of giving thanks and supporting those in need during the holiday season. This year, we were able to donate $8,300 and because we donated on Giving Tuesday, our donation went twice as far! Thanks to a generous donation, any gift given to the Anne Arundel County Food Bank on Giving Tuesday was matched up to $25,000.

Fence & Deck Connection’s CEO, Ben Wolod, and Marketing Manager, Sarah Ditto, joined the AACFB’s representatives for a quick picture after discussing the challenges many of our neighbors are facing and how our contribution will be used. Jake Wolod, one of Fence & Deck Connection’s Project Consultants was also in attendance to present our donation, having been the top salesman for November 2023. All of our wonderful end-of-the-year clients who purchased a fence, deck, or screened porch also played a part in this wonderful donation to a phenomenal organization!

With the end of pandemic-era Federal funding and the continued high need for supplemental food resources in our community, donations are needed now, more than ever! Last fiscal year, the AACFB distributed over 4 million pounds of food, the equivalent of 3.2 million meals, to our Anne Arundel County neighbors and is on track to distribute a similar amount this year. In addition to providing food to pantries and soup kitchens throughout Anne Arundel County, our local Food Bank also provide items of necessity to Baby Pantries, Senior Pantries, Pet Pantries, Medical Programs, and Clothing Banks.

As always, monetary donations are much appreciated, allowing AACFB to purchase food directly from distributors that will be shared to those in need in our county. In addition to food items, monetary donations also become the most effective way to provide the items that families needed most, such as food, paper products, feminine products and cleaning supplies. To make a donation, please visit the Anne Arundel County Food Bank website. You can also follow the AACFB on Facebook to stay up to today with current needs and events, as well as any future volunteer opportunities.

We look forward to helping our Anne Arundel County community members in need for years to come, and encourage our neighbors, customers, and partners to join us in making a difference!
