One of the cornerstone principles of our success is giving back to the communities we serve. From the start of our business until today, tomorrow, and beyond, we understand the value of giving back and supporting local charities/causes. The satisfaction of giving back to the community that has supported our business is a tremendous feeling. Additionally, we hold our own Annual Holiday Drive to generate awareness on a given charity chosen to be the recipient that year. We empower our employees to help organize and run this event which has grown to become a community icon event every year. Fence & Deck Connection supported Warrior Events at its 2017 Holiday Drive Event, as well as sponsored their float in the Annapolis St Patrick’s Day Parade. Warrior Event’s mission is to provide opportunities for interaction, enjoyment, and camaraderie for our wounded veterans, and to raise awareness and appreciation among the public. Fence & Deck Connection supported Wy’s Rides at its Annual Holiday Drive event in December 2017. Wy’s Rides assists hospitalized children by keeping them happy and active during their stay. They retrofit ride-on toys with hitches that allow children who are tethered to an IV pole to get out of their hospital room and go for a safe ride, even when only one caretaker is available. Toys and games were collected at our ‘Christmas in Candyland’ Holiday Drive to go towards a pediatric hospital holiday event. The toys were donated to the Johns Hopkins Snow Flake Village - which is a yearly donation drive for parents of hospitalized children. Parents picked out toys for their hospitalized children, then "Santa Claus" delivered the chosen toys to the patients hospital rooms on Christmas Eve. The Blue Ribbon Project
Fence & Deck Connection supported The Blue Ribbon Project’s “Backpacks of Love” campaign at its Annual Holiday Drive event in December 2015, 2016 & 2017. The annual event rallies the community to come and show their support for a worthy cause chosen by the company that given year. The Blue Ribbon Project assists children who are victims of child abuse and neglect, as well as adult survivors of child abuse. Fence & Deck Connection also sponsored The Blue Ribbon Project’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade float in Annapolis in 2015, 2016 & 2017 as well as their Open House. Built Upon A Dream
Fence & Deck Connection is proud to have been a sponsor of the ABC 2 News “Built Upon A Dream” project for 3 years running. The “Built Upon A Dream” project was modeled in the spirit of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”. The project chooses a private, non-profit organization in need and reaches out to local contractors to get the makeover completed. Fence & Deck Connection has proudly donated time, labor & materials to the following projects: The Summit School in Edgewater, The Children’s Home in Catonsville, and the Brooklyn O’Malley Boys & Girls Club in Brooklyn. Team River Runner
Fence & Deck Connection recently sponsored a boat for Team River Runner, an organization that helps our wounded Veterans, in one of their Racing Events. FDC Annual Holiday Drive
Fence & Deck Connection started it’s Annual Holiday Drive as a customer appreciation event and way to give back to the community that has supported its business. The event has grown tremendously over the years and welcomes hundreds of visitors each year. The event is completely FREE and full of activities, food, crafts, and pics with Santa. The company chooses a local charity to be its recipient each year and asks the community to rally in support of that charity through monetary donations, toys, or more specific items relative to that given charity. This event is a huge success each and every year, in large part to the generosity of the community.
SPCA of Anne Arundel County
Fence & Deck Connection is a proud supporter of our four legged friends at the SPCA of Anne Arundel County. We are a sponsor at two of their major events held annually, The Walk for the Animals & the Puppy Plunge.
