Makeover Monday: Townhome Deck in Woodlawn, Maryland

Did you know that Fence & Deck Connection installs fences and decks in Baltimore County? Though our “home base” is Anne Arundel County, we are proud to help homeowners in Baltimore County achieve their backyard goals!

Project Consultant Joel Lewis worked with Woodlawn homeowners, who reside in a townhouse community. With HOA approval, they were able to transform their outdated deck that was definitely showing its age into a composite deck that is virtually maintenance-free!

Before:

We removed and hauled away 260 sq. ft. of the existing wooden deck, and replaced the structure with 272 sq. ft. of Trex Enhanced decking in the Clam Shell color — an easy-to-match shade of medium grey, featuring a low-maintenance, wood-like grain pattern. This material is made of high-performance composite that won’t rot, warp or splinter, unlike wood and has a protective outer shell for durability that resists fading and staining. Instead a yearly process of power-washing, sanding, and staining, Trex decking is making of quality low-maintenance material that cleans easily with just soap and water.

White vinyl fascia wraps the new space for a finished look and white vinyl Washington-style railing and balusters safety enclose the second story deck. 7 steps lead up to a 4 x 4′ landing, followed by an additional 8 steps. The new space undoubtedly adds value to the home and is a beautiful upgrade that will last for decades!
