Fence & Deck Sponsors Anne Arundel County Food Bank’s “Feeding Hope” Event

Since our humble beginnings, Fence & Deck Connection has been a proud supporter of the Anne Arundel County Food Bank (AACFB). One of the cornerstone principles of our success is giving back to the communities we serve. From the start of our business until today, tomorrow, and beyond, we understand the value of giving back and supporting local charities/causes. In the last few years, we have donated a percentage of our November and December residential sales profits to the Anne Arundel County Food Bank as a way of giving thanks and supporting those in need during the holidays.

Our commitment to giving back to local families in need doesn’t end when the holiday season is over, however. On May 18th, we were honored to be a “Gold Sponsor” and attend the second annual Feeding Hope fundraiser at Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville. Event proceeds will go on to help the Anne Arundel County Food Bank provide fresh, nutritious food to our neighbors throughout Anne Arundel County.

With the end of pandemic-era Federal funding and the continued high need for supplemental food resources in our community, the Feeding Hope event helps support over 38,000 visits to the AACFB member agency food pantries each and every month. Last fiscal year, the AACFB distributed over 4 million pounds of food, the equivalent of 3.2 million meals, to our Anne Arundel County neighbors and is on track to distribute a similar amount this year.

This year’s event was extremely successful, uplifting, and full of hope. Attendees were treated to delicious small plates from eight local restaurants, plus fine wine and beer, and local band, Red Betty and the Ruckus. Supporters of the event raised over $80,000 to help our food-insecure neighbors fill their tables with fresh, nutritious food for themselves and their families. It couldn’t have been a more perfect spring evening, surrounded by the generosity of so many.
