Makeover Monday: Beautiful “Rocky Harbor” Trex Deck

Homeowners in Ellicott City, Maryland contacted Fence & Deck Connection looking for a bit of an outdoor makeover. Their existing wood deck had warped deck boards and was definitely showing its age. Kevin Bullion, one of Fence & Deck Connection’s experienced Sales Consultants worked with our clients to transform their outdoor space into one that requires far less maintenance and allows for maximum enjoyment! Composite decking is resistant to warping, rotting, staining, or fading. Plus, its quality low-maintenance material makes it easy to clean with just soap and water!

Before:

We first removed all of the previous decking, railing, steps, and framework before installing a new free-standing construction. We then installed 424 sq. ft. of Trex Enhance composite decking in Rocky Harbor, with matching seam boards and feature board that “picture frames” the deck. A contemporary changing neutral, Rocky Harbor adds sandy undertones to a rustic slate grey, featuring a low-maintenance, wood-like grain pattern.

This hue belongs to Trex’s Enhance collection, which offers an authentic wood-grain appearance with the durability of composite and the affordability of wood. Enhance decking boards are scalloped, making them as lightweight as lumber—without the extra work. This long-lasting decking requires little upkeep and comes in seven colors.

Black Ultralox Alta aluminum railing with black square balusters encloses the new space. One 4′ wide steps lead off the deck to a mid-landing, and then down to the yard. White vinyl textured fascia completes the new look.

After:
