When homeowners in Howard County realized their wooden deck was rotting and becoming a bit outdated, they turned to Fence & Deck Connection for an upgrade. One of our experienced Project Consultants, Andrew Vidulich, helped design a beautifully modern TimberTech AZEK composite deck that accents the home’s style and brightens up the outdoor space.
Before:
We demoed and hauled away the existing deck before installing approximately 448 sq. ft. of TimberTech Azek decking in the Mahogany hue from the Vintage Collection. The Vintage Collection features sophisticated, natural-looking colors with a subtle wire-brushed, low-gloss finish for an authentic wood look. For a clean, minimal look, we limited as many posts as possible by using Glulam beams. This way, there are no posts between the large brick columns.
Trex Vintage Lantern railings with black aluminum balusters safely enclose the space, and a 2 x 4 Mahogany cap rail offers a nice place to rest beverages, plants, or even arms while looking below to the backyard. A matching seam board can be seen in the center of the deck for an added aesthetic, as well as matching fascia for a clean, polished look. We also built and installed a wonderful custom accessory — two 8′ long benches that match the decking with an additional white trim. The benches allow for plenty of extra seating — perfect for hosting a backyard BBQ with friends and family. Last but not least, seven 4′ wide steps lead down to the backyard.
